What are wireless communication modules? What is the difference between them?

Along with the rapid development of IOT technology, IOT terminal devices are also widely used in various scenarios, different application scenarios have different market demand, the current market has a wide variety of wireless communication modules, resulting in many users can not correctly distinguish between the various types of wireless modules, today I introduce a few common wireless communication modules, different application scenarios, different application scenarios.

1.Bluetooth.

Bluetooth is a wireless communication module. It is a wireless technology standard that iot wifi module enables short-range data exchange between fixed terminal devices, mobile terminal devices and personal local area networks. The system uses 2.4~2.485GHZ UHF radio wave frequency ISM.

Bluetooth wireless technology has high complexity, fast equipment networking speed, only 10 seconds; high integration and reliability; transmission rate is generally around 1Mbps; low cost and relatively simple installation. It is a proximity wireless communication technology.

2.Wi-Fi.

Wi-Fi wireless technology has spread to all aspects of our lives, it is the most common wireless communication technology that we can come into contact with every day, bringing great convenience to our lives. It uses wireless LAN technology based on IEEE802.11 standard. It converts all the wired network signals into radio wave signals and communicates wirelessly with wifi communication module through wireless communication module.

The coverage range of Wi-Fi technology is generally within 100 meters, the technology is more complex, the transmission rate is up to 54Mbps, the operating band is 2.4GHz, the transmission power is less than 100mW, and its data security is relatively poor compared with Bluetooth wireless communication. But the invention of WiFi is very consistent with the needs of modern society, the development prospects are very broad.

3.ZigBee.

ZigBee wireless communication technology is based on the IEEE802.15.4 standard for low-power LAN protocol. The organization was formally established in August 2001. At the early stage of creation, due to the hasty release of this version, there were some errors, which were later improved.

ZigBee wireless communication technology is similar to Bluetooth wireless communication technology. Both are short-range wireless communication technologies, but Bluetooth wireless communication technology has the disadvantages of high power consumption, high complexity and short communication distance, and its application is limited and has been widely used in households and individuals. zigBee technology is designed to meet the needs of industrial automation and has the characteristics of simple structure, strong anti-interference ability, reliable transmission, easy to use and low cost. The communication distance is extended to 10 meters. In indoor scenes, it can reach 50 meters from openings to hundreds of meters.

4. Digital broadcasting station.

Digital broadcasting is a high-performance professional data station realized by using DSP digital signal processing technology and software wireless point technology. Digital broadcasting can be regarded as a communication media. Just like optical fiber and microwave, it has certain uses. Digital radio transmits over long distances and is suitable for various complex environments. With a transmission rate of 19.2Kbps, but the terminal equipment is expensive, costly and complex to install.

Various wireless communication modules and their differences.

According to different classification standards, we can also divide the commonly used wireless modules in the market into three categories.

1. ASK super outlier modules, which are mainly used for simple remote control and data transmission.

2. wireless transceiver modules, which mainly use microcontrollers to control wireless transceiver data, and generally use FSK and GFSK modulation.

3. Wireless data transmission module, receiving data directly through the serial port, easy to use. If divided by the operating frequency, the market generally has 230MHz, 315MHz, 433MHz, 2.4GHz and so on. Just like Hyperk, smart home uses wifi module to control home appliances.

In IoT application scenarios, the market has developed large granularity (annual demand of over 10 million), mainly in smart meters, mobile payment, smart cars, smart grid, etc. The growth in these two areas has led to a significant growth in the wireless communication module market.

Multi-Device - You won't ever need more than one Zigbee hub because it supports a large number of devices on a single network. If you're installing smart gadgets throughout your entire home but just want a handful of them, you could require a Zigbee repeater or another protocol.

What objects are interconnected with IoT?

IoT has emerged in recent years as one of the most significant 21st-century technologies. Smooth communication between people, processes, and things is now possible thanks to the ability to connect commonplace items, such as household appliances, automobiles, thermostats, and baby monitors, to the internet via embedded devices.

What is the price of installing a Wi-Fi?

Equipment is expensive. A WiFi router, which can cost anywhere from $75 and $250 depending on the model, is the bare minimum of equipment you need. A modem, which normally costs between $50 and $100, might also be required. You can buy your own of these things, but your ISP (Internet Service Provider) should have them available.
