When you reach your 30s, it's time to rethink the basics of skincare: washing your face!
How many of you can say, "I'm confident in the way I wash my face! How many of you can say "I'm confident about the way I wash my face"? There are many people who wash their face every day, and many of them may just do it randomly, thinking that it's just a matter of getting the dirt off.
However, as the amount of moisture in the skin decreases in our 30s compared to our 20s, daily care can make a big difference in the condition of our skin. It doesn't matter how expensive your skincare products are, if they don't cleanse your pores, they will be less effective. To ensure that your skin is healthy and beautiful in your 30s and 40s, it's time to take a look at the basics of skincare, such as washing and cleansing your face.
Are you doing it? Don't wash your face like this!
Washing your face is something you do every day, so it's easy to get carried away with your own routine. Here's a checklist to help you get started.
How to wash your face when you're in your 30s
How do you feel about this checklist of bad face washes? If any of these apply to you, it's a good sign that there are things you need to look at. Here are some of the best ways to wash your face. Here's a list of our favourite ways to wash your face, so you can see if you're doing it right.
Wash your face no more than twice a day
Do you wash your face too many times a day because you want to feel refreshed? You don't want to overload your skin by washing it too many times. Washing your face too many times a day can strip your skin of its natural oils. It is best to wash your skin only twice a day, once in the morning and once at night, as this can lead to dryness and excess sebum.
Use a thick and fluffy lather, ideally the size of a lemon, which will not fall off even if you turn your head.
Use a washing net to lather up your face wash. The key is to make sure the foam is so dense that it doesn't fall off when you turn your face over. Use the foam as a cushion to help reduce friction and stress on the skin.
Use just enough pressure to keep your skin still
When washing your face, it is important to remove only the dirt and protect the skin's moisture. The key is to avoid friction and to be gentle with your skin. The area around the eyes and mouth is one of the thinnest areas of the face and is most prone to friction problems, so it is important to use gentle pressure so that the skin does not move.
Start with the T-zone, chin, nose and other bear zones where there is a lot of sebum.
Start with the T-zone and the dark circles around the nose and chin where the most dirt is produced.
The U-zone, around the eyes and mouth should only be washed with a quick lather.
The cheeks produce less sebum and are more prone to dryness. A light lather is sufficient. The skin around the eyes and mouth is thin and delicate, so be careful not to rub them. Apply lather gently. It is best to use your ring finger to avoid too much pressure. Use your ring finger to avoid using too much pressure, as it is less sensitive than other fingers.
Rinse thoroughly 20-30 times
Rinsing is also important. If there is any residue left on your face, it can clog your pores and cause skin problems. Rinse your face 20 to 30 times, using running water in the palm of your hand to gently dissolve the foam. Be careful not to leave any residue on the hairline, face line, sides of the nose or under the chin.
Don't use the shower as an afterthought, as the water pressure can be too much for your skin.
The best rinse temperature is 32-34°C
The temperature of the rinse is also important. Do you use cold water to tighten your skin? Cold water not only makes it harder to remove sebum, it also shrinks the pores and makes it harder to remove dirt from the inside of the pores. Hot water, on the other hand, washes away the sebum that your skin needs, causing it to dry out. The right temperature is 32-34 degrees Celsius, or lukewarm water that is slightly cooler than the skin. It's good to remember the temperature by feel.
When wiping your face, use a towel and press gently.
When wiping your face, don't rub too hard with the towel; gently press down on your face to remove the water.
Don't leave water on the skin as it dries. If you have dry skin, wipe it off immediately as it will evaporate with the moisture inside your skin.
Dry skin can be washed with hot water in the morning
If you have dry skin, you may want to avoid using a facial cleanser in the morning. If you have moisturised your skin in the morning and it is still dry in the afternoon, it may be because you wash your face in the morning.
If you are concerned about this, try rinsing your face with hot water instead of using a cleanser and see how your skin feels. If your skin produces too much sebum during sleep, or if it is still sticky from the night's skincare, use a cleanser.
It is also advisable to have two cleansers, one for daily use and one for scrubbing.
In addition to your daily cleanser, it is also a good idea to use a scrub or enzyme cleanser on a regular basis to exfoliate your skin. A scrub is a great way to give your skin a boost of cleanliness when used correctly.
If you can afford it, use a steamed towel before washing your face.
Using a hot towel to loosen your pores before washing your face will help to soften and exfoliate dead skin cells. This can be done in the evening, in the bath or as a special treatment a few times a week. Before washing your face, warm a hot towel on your face for a few minutes.
